1. Camping must be done at the Eena campsite
, and parking must be within the new boundaries shown on the updated map
. Do not park on DNR land.
2. You may open the gate, drive in, and park in our area. Please lock the gate while you are on the property and again when you leave. The front gate is not on our property, it is on DNR land and we have a right of way to enter through the gate to gain access to our property.
3. Scouts and scouters can hike on the rest of the camp, but canít camp there.
4. DNR is doing some work within a lot of the legacy camp buildings. Troops should make sure that Scouts do not enter any of the buildings. There are significant safety issues surrounding these structures. They must be avoided.
5. There is no potable water on site. Please bring your own water for drinking and cooking.
Hahobas Use Guidelines
1. The rules for use of camp properties are based on the Scout Oath and Law. Please keep them in mind at all times. Specifically, the following rules are in effect:
a. Camping and parking must be within the campsites/parking areas within the boundaries shown on the attached map. Do not park on DNR land.
b. The gate must be locked behind you each time you enter or exit the property at all times.
c. Hiking is permitted on DNR property, no camping outside the new camp boundaries.
d. There is no potable drinking water on site.
e. You must bring your own water.
f. Do not drink or cook with the Lake water.
g. Lake water must be boiled before use in dishwashing or cleaning.
h. You may use the outhouses that remain on camp property. Bring your own toilet paper.
i. Do not enter any of the buildings on DNR land. There are significant safety issues and they should be avoided.
j. The Bear Bowl is available for unit campfire programs on a first come, first served basis.
2. Supervision of your unit using camp is not only a requirement of BSA, it is also critical to the safety and quality of your unitís experience while at camp.
a. In accordance with National BSA policy, units must be under the leadership of 2 registered adults, at least 21 years of age. There must be a registered female leader of at least 21 years of age for any activity involving female youth.
b. Two adults must be on site at all times and be directly responsible for the group.
c. All adults must be registered BSA members with current Youth Protection Training.
d. All Youth must be registered BSA members who are age 11 and up, or age 10 and have completed the Arrow of Light Award.
e. Unsupervised youth can easily get into trouble; it is your responsibility to know where they are and what they are doing at all times.
f. Alcoholic beverages and other controlled substances are prohibited on Scout outings and properties.
3. Please practice the Outdoor Code. Conservation is a part of Scouting. Pre-approved service projects are encouraged.
a. Leave your camp area, outhouses and other facilities cleaner than you found them.
b. Do not cut down standing trees, create new trails, litter or conduct yourselves in a manner inconsistent with current conservation practices.
c. Camp is a place for wildlife, not pets. Please leave all pets at home.
4. Some safety considerations:
a. All accidents which may require a doctor or emergency medical services (EMT) must be reported to Pacific Harbors Council.
b. Chemical fuels may only be used under adult supervision. BSA standards require fuel be securely stored away from sources of ignition, buildings, and tents.
c. Fires must be in established fire pits, and must be attended at all times and be out cold when your campsite is left unattended. No flames or flame sources are allowed in tents.
d. Please follow the Camp Fireguard Plan.
e. Think safety. Educate your Scouts about the dangers associated with stone throwing, running, misuse of woods tools, walking barefoot, and other inherently hazardous activities.
f. Swimming/Aquatics: Groups will conform with all BSA Safe Swim and Safety Afloat rules when conducting swimming or aquatics activities.
g. Lifeguards will not be provided by the Council.
